Quantum Leap Cast

22nd June 1957: Sam finds himself on a beach with a beautiful woman named Lisa – only to discover that he has leaped into the middle of a dream experienced by a young U.S. Navy pilot nicknamed ‘Bingo’. Waking up in Bingo’s barracks, Sam learns from criminal defence lawyer Commander Hugh Dobbs that Bingo has been accused of raping and murdering the wife of Commander Dirk Riker. Sam then meets fellow pilot ‘Chip' Ferguson, who arranges for him to visit sickbay so that he can meet Bingo’s girlfriend, nurse Lisa Sherman. Sam is relieved to learn that Lisa can provide Bingo with an alibi that will prove his innocence, but when he discovers she is married, he refuses to allow her to ruin her life by testifying. Al finally turns up later that night, having been busy talking to Bingo in the Waiting Room and looking around the base reliving old memories; Sam is confused – until he discovers that Bingo is Ensign Albert Calavicci: Al’s younger self! Suddenly realising the time Al urgently centres in on Lisa – but he is too late, and can only look on helplessly as she is killed in a car crash. When Al tells Sam that he never went to trial because Lisa proved his innocence before she died, Sam realises that his earlier conversation with Lisa has changed history, so that Bingo now faces a court-martial. During the trial the next day, Commander Riker gives a devastating testimony that not only reveals that he knew of his wife’s predilection for young officers, but also that he saw Bingo rape and murder Marci. To Sam and Al’s horror Bingo is sentenced to death in the gas chamber – then Al’s hologram disappears, and is replaced by a new observer: Edward St. John V…
